International Cruises, Carnival Cruise Lines

CARNIVAL CRUISE LINES

Carnival Cruise Lines is an American company founded in 1972. It is one of the most successful cruise lines today, and owns a large number of cruise ships. 28 new ships have debuted since the early 1980s until 2012. All of the ships in the fleet, usually known as "The Fun Ships", are designed for families or younger first-time passengers. They are in typical American-style (Las Vegas-style) which are floating playgrounds at sea, with highly programmed fun activities, busy casinos, loud and exciting environments in a very casual atmosphere.

More than ten ships in the fleet are over 100000 tons, and Carnival Destiny was the first ship in the world reaching this milestone. For the itineraries, Carnival Cruise Lines is famous for its shorter, less expensive cruises. There are many homeland getaway cruises ranging from 3 to 7 days that depart from various US ports. Some of the ships also sail to Alaska, South America and Europe.
