International Cruises, Holland America Line

HOLLAND AMERICA LINE

Holland America Line was founded in 1873 as Netherlands-America Steamship Company. At that time it was a shipping and passenger line that provided services between the Americas and Rotterdam, The Netherlands. In the 1970s, Holland America Line no longer operated cargo shipping business and transatlantic liner service, only focused on running cruise ships.

Today, Holland America Line is a brand owned by Carnival Corporation and has a total of 15 ships in its fleet. All ships have dark blue hulls that resemble the features of classic liners. From the smallest Prinsendam to the older Statendam Class to the latest Vista Class and Signature Class, the ships reflect "Signature of Excellence".

Itineraries of Holland America Line cover most parts of the world, including Alaska, the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, the Caribbean, the Panama Canal, Hawaii, Canada and New England, Asia, Australia and South America. Grand World Voyages are offered annually. Holland America Line also owned a private island in the Caribbean, named the Half Moon Cay.
