ISLAND CRUISES

Island Cruises is a joint venture between Royal Caribbean International and First Choice Holidays. It was founded in 2001 and started operation in 2002. At the beginning there was Island Escape, and the second ship Island Star joined the fleet in 2005. In 2009 spring, Island Cruises ceased operation. Island Star returned to Royal Caribbean International while Island Escape was redeployed to Thomson Cruises, a cruise line owned by TUI Travel which is the parent company of First Choice Holidays. However Island Escape still retains its name and the brand of Island Cruises is still used in Thompson Cruises' publication.

Itineraries of Island Cruises included Europe from April to November, and the Caribbean and South America (mainly Brazil and Argentina) from December to March.
