PRINCESS CRUISES

Princess Cruises is an American cruise line founded in 1965. It was acquired by P&O to become P&O Princess Cruises in mid-1970s, expanded in late 1980s through acquiring Sitmar Cruises, and in 2003 it merged with Carnival Corporation, becoming a member of the world largest cruise company. Currently Princess Cruises operates 17 ships which can be classified into three classes, whereas the former ships are usually transferred from Sitmar Cruises or P&O Cruises.

Princess Cruises was made famous in the 1970s by the American television series "The Love Boat" in which Pacific Princess <I> and Island Princess <I> were featured. Nowadays it is one of the most successful cruise lines in the world with itineraries around the seven continents, including Alaska, Caribbean and Mexican Riviera, the Panama Canal, Mediterranean, Scandinavian, Canada and New England, Asia, Australia, South Pacific, Hawaii, South America and Africa.

Cruise experience aboard ships of Princess is well-organized. There is calmness with little sense of crowding, as suggested by the company's slogan "Big Ship Choice, Small Ship Feel". European service are provided on these modern megaships. Special features on the ships include "Movie Under the Stars", and "Tie the Knot" legal wedding programme. Excellent shore excursion programmes of the company are also well-known.
