International Cruises, Royal Caribbean International |
ROYAL CARIBBEAN INTERNATIONAL Royal Caribbean International is an American cruise line which founded in 1968. It is the second largest cruise line in the world, operating 22 ships in the fleet including the largest passenger ships today (Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas). Freedom Class, Voyager Class and Sovereign Class once also had the title of largest cruise ships at their debut. Originally named Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, the company changed its name after merging with Celebrity Cruises in 1997. It established Island Cruises in 2002, acquired Pullmantur Cruceros in 2006, and created Azamara Cruises and CDF Croisières de France in 2007. Royal Caribbean was an innovative company. All of its ships are new-built and were megaships in the world at their maiden times. The first "chop-and-stretch" lengthening operation in the cruise industry took place on Royal Caribbean's first ship, Song of Norway. The company also introduced Viking Crown Lounge at the highest deck of all ships, first rock-climbing walls at sea on Vision Class, first skating ranks at sea and Royal Promenade indoor street on Voyager Class, first FlowRider surfing area at sea on Freedom Class, and also first carousel, first aquatheatre at sea and inside-view balcony cabins on Oasis Class.
Royal Caribbean operates many large resort ships that are suitable for
families as well as all ages of passengers. They are full of new facilities
and have plenty of exciting activities. The interior decoration is bright,
lively and contemporary. Passengers can participate in a large variety of
programmes from day to night without boredom. The ships sail on worldwide
itineraries, from the popular Caribbean, Mediterranean, Northern Europe,
Alaska, to exotic areas such as South America, the Middle East, Asia and
Oceania. |
