Cruise Wonderland >> Virtual Ship Tours >> Oceana

Christened 2003 May 21st (by Princess Anne)

Oceana was built in 2000 but started her service in P&O Cruises two years later. Between the time of debut and 2002, she sailed as Ocean Princess <I> of Princess Cruises and was the fourth vessel in the Sun Class, being introduced after Sun Princess, Dawn Princess and Sea Princess.

P&O Cruises acquired the two newer sisters from 2002 to 2003 and renamed them as Adonia <I> and Oceana respectively. These two ships were christened together in Southampton on the same day, which was the first double-ship naming ceremony of P&O. In 2005, Adonia <I> rejoined Princess Cruises to become Sea Princess again, while Oceana remained in fleet until now.

Oceana can carry more than 2000 passengers, yet the well-designed locations of public areas create a spacious feeling. The ship still retains many original Princess-style interiors. Only a few modifications have been undergone to make her more appealing for British passengers. There are a great choice of intimate public rooms, welcoming decors with gentle colours, as well as countless artworks onboard. A wide variety of activities, entertainment and dining options are offered.

Oceana is one of the family-friendly ships in the fleet, which is suitable to all ages of passengers and first-time cruisers. Her itineraries range from the British Isles, Northern Europe, the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands and also the Caribbean.
